About the Award
The “Gene Luczkiw Spirit of Enterprise Award” has been established to provide support to one or more students who demonstrate the spirit of enterprise. Depending on the need of the student, the recipient could receive funds for costs such as books, tuition or if they are starting a business following high school, the fund could cover continuing education courses in the areas that the recipient needs.
Donations
In order to fund this award annually, we are seeking donations to create the Gene Luczkiw Spirit of Enterprise Fund that will be administered by the Niagara Entrepreneur Awards Inc. and managed by the Niagara Community Foundation (NCF). Donations should be made payable to the Niagara Community Foundation. Tax receipts will be issued by the foundation for all gifts.
We hope that we can count on your support to grow this fund in Gene’s memory. Whether it is a one-time donation or an annual contribution, help us to ensure that Gene’s legacy and spirit of enterprise lives on.

This $1,000 Award, which will be awarded annually to a student attending school in the Niagara Region, is not only meant to honour the memory of Gene, but to continue his work. We are asking educators throughout Niagara to help us identify students who clearly demonstrate the enterprising spirit in their lives. Gene defined Enterprise as “the taking of initiative to achieve a self-determined goal while sharing your achievement with others.” Details of the Award, eligibility, and how students can apply are included in the PDF document downloadable below.
